Biography
I began exploring my passion for drumming and music, when my father introduced it to me during childhood (who was also a drummer). From the moment I started to play, it was evident that this was more then just a hobby.
Having had the chance to travel and live in various parts of the world, I was able to capture different sounds, beats and rhythms that you can hear during my performances. Being of Armenian decent has let me become exposed to Mediterranean & Middle Eastern styles yet at the same time growing up in Morocco as a child, let me embrace the distinct Iberican sound that infuses Spanish and North African (Bedouin) beats together. This spurned a passion for learning and infusing different styles of music (latin, jazz, funk, hiphop etc...) by incorporating and radiating them through percussion and drumming.
In 2002, I began performing at local venues in Toronto and built a loyal following. This appeal caught the attention of international promoters, and lead to numerous performances across North America, South America, and Europe. This has been a great experience and I enjoy everything about it!
Today, my brand continues to grow in both Toronto and the International music community. In addition, I have also started production on original tracks with various International artists while establishing an Entertainment company with fellow drummer "Peter B" called Bongo & B Entertainment (www.bongoandb.com), which focuses on both corporate and wedding events and venues.
Music is the essence of life... and life is created by a rhythm... it is truly a language spoken and felt by all beings.
